Kled Helmer- Petersen's work feature's black and white photographs with dramatic contrasts of tone. He created these images by using cameras and flat bed scanners, removing all mid tones designed to encourage us to consider the space around the image and the accompanying text is integral to the work.

Experimenting with zines
I created a zine with influence from Kled Helmer Peterson thinking about the positioning of images and which images had a great enough contrast for the threshold tool in photoshop to work effectively. Using what I had learnt from creating diptychs I placed photographs either next to each other on the same page or on different pages, or one photograph taking up two pages thinking about scale.
Both photographs of people from different viewpoints I placed the second image smaller to create variation.
I positioned some photos to take up two pages in the zine
I placed two images on the same page to create a diptych. Both images were taken in the same surroundings of the marsh on the Thames but have different subject matter one of a overturn buggy and the other of a rustic bike.
I separated the image of the right so that only half could be seen when flicking through the zine like a book. One figure can be seen and then on the next page a silhouette of a different figure can be seen.
I decided for one image tofill up most of the page the other to fit in the bottom left corner. Both are of keys being refracted in a glass of water, creating various shapes.
