Emeric Lhuisset Emeric Lhuisset's work featured unfixed cyanotypes telling stories of immigrants to Europe. The images eventually faded to blocks of blue to reflect the sea and the colour of the eu flag as the position of UK's status in the eu may be changing. The images reflected memories of his friend that he had in Lesbos before travelling to Turkey with the project becoming a tribute after the death of his friend. The pictures can connect the viewer with the life of the refugee as it looks as though it could be anyones life. I was inspired by the motive behind the images and thought that it was powerful
Harley Weir She took her series of photos immediately before and during the destruction of the migrant and refugee camp in calais 'the jungle' focusing on intimate and domestic details with the backdrop portraying uncertainty . The exhibition is named 'homed' part of a wider project 'borders'. All the images are printed on textile creating a relationship with the context of the image as many are of tents and textile matter.
She wanted people to understand the circumstances that some people are in and the pain that they endure, viewing with an open mind. She has acheived this by giving us an insight into the environment in Calais as well as capturing beautiful moments. She decided not to show the image of people within her work promoting the idea of collaboration. 'I feel a lot of photographers theytake pictures of people and they feel that they own those images, they can do as they wish with those images and i feel that's a warped idea' as people's images may be used in a way that they don't want them to be used.
