Danny Tracey works with photography while incorporating sculpture, archaeology, performance, collecting and anthropology. "Danny Treacy is an archeologist, looking for remains of past lives, gathering scattered fragments to constitute a picture of our civilization"- Valerie Morrison, lecturer at the university of Burgundy, France
These objects were collected from the Thames in Greenwich,
I converted the images to high contrast black and white through using the threshold tool in photoshop.
I created transfers of the images using acetone and scratching into the other side of the photograph. Less ordered like how you would find them in the Thames.
I photographed abandoned objects; this torn shoe that looks as though it has bite marks on it from an animal. I moved the shoe so that it was positioned between the crossover of the paving stones. In the photos I wanted to show the damage to the front of the shoe but I also thought that it was interesting, the shoe being a heel. This isn't noticable in the first photo which is an example of how perspective is significant when taking a photo. The photographer can include the information they choose to show.
As it was dark outside when taking the photos I used flash which consequently made them less focused.
